Today, I am going to talk about another important tool when you are working with Primary students.
We know that sometimes this work is not easy, because, they get boring easily, for this reason I am going to share with you ICT resources that you can use in order to work different activities with younger students.
The first resource that I am going to share with you are different cartoons that you can use in order to teach Geometry:
- The first cartoon is Molly Polly Olly, this is a cartoon serie for younger students. A good way to teach this younger students Geometry is showing this cartoon, as an introduction of the subject. Because, the this cartoon is made up geometric forms.
- Another cartoon that can be very useful in order to teach Geometry for younger students is the serie Paw Patrol. This is another cartoon for younger students, because, the students watch this kind of cartoon diary, and it is a good way to teach this.
Then, I am going to talk about applications that are very useful to work with Geometry and with older students. There are some applications that there are very useful, for example, Geogebra. But, as lots of us, I am going to show you another ones that are very interesting too.
EUCLIDEA.
Euclidea offers 120 challenges of geometry, using ruler and compass, from the most basic, such as tracing a 60º angle or the bisector of a segment to really complex things, such as tracing a known right triangle, the hypotenuse and a cathetus.
You can use in the services that you want and it is free. From my point of view, it is a good application in order to start teaching basic concepts of the subject in a more dynamic way.
PYTHAGOREA
They are geometric constructions, but this time on a grid and only drawing lines.
Finally, from my point of view the best application ARLOON Geometry.
This is the quote that the webpage show us "Remember that one of the main drawbacks to understanding Geometry is to imagine in three dimensions that which should be reflected on paper. Arloon Geometry is an application that solves it thanks to augmented reality technology."
